Gas distributors in the crosshairs of 5 giants in the P&G sector

The companies Petrobras, Shell, Total, Golar and YPFB (Yacimientos Petroleum Fiscales Bolivianos) were selected in the third stage of the public call for the acquisition of 10 million m³ per day by the distributors of Compaid Gas, GasBrasiliano, MSGás , SCGás and Sulgás. Although the call is coordinated, the contracts are individual and based on the needs of each market.

With the prediction of the start of supply for 2020, the next phase will be the negotiation, which will be carried out by the dealers individually with the respective selected. The five distributors serve more than 134,000 consumers of natural gas and have more than 4400 km of distribution networks in 161 municipalities.

The demand of the five distributors fell to about 6.4 million m³/day in June this year, according to data recently released by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), before the milestone of 10 million m³/day of 2014 and 2015.
