The Italian Enel and the government of Goiás signed an agreement that aims to improve the distribution of energy in the state. The text of the document establishes the expansion of 26% the capacity of the electricity distribution network between the Guans up to 2022. The signing of the contract was attended by the Minister of Mines and Energy, Bento Albuquerque, and the President of the House of Deputies, Rodrigo Maia.
According to the governor of the state of Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado (DEM), the agreement predicts that Enel can solve failures in the energy system, which cause the removal of market investors in the state. "Goiás now has the real expectation of being able to meet the suppressed demand for electric power in the state and then move forward as well. Everything that has been signed will be implemented within that timeframe and with the necessary investments, "he said.
Still on the losses caused to the state of Goiás resulting from failures in the electric sector, Caiado completed: "Not only of entrepreneurs, but also of small producers, traders and the citizen in general".
Among some of the proposals provided for in the agreement are: increase by 26% the availability of energy up to 2020; Make over 20000 rural links; Hire more than 1,000 electricians; Build 17 new power substations up to 2022; and to reform and expand other 130 electricity generating units.
