Government authorizes Golar Power to import gas

The Brazilian government authorized a golar power electric unit to carry out gas operations with other countries from December 2020 until the end of 2023. The information was disclosed in the Official Gazette (DOU), last Thursday (8), and according to the order of the Ministry of Mines and Energy, the authorization was given to Golar Power Natural Gas Marketer and involves volume of up to 37.5 million cubic meters in liquefied natural gas (LNG). The delivery site in Brazil would be a regasification terminal in Salvador (BA).

The expected market for imported gas includes independent producers, free consumers and local natural gas distributors.
