Government plans new auction of Mills for 2020

Based on the guideline of the A-4 auction, next year specifically on March 31, there will be a new bid in which new or existing coal or natural gas plants, with the operation forecast until December 31, 2023, may participate. The information was disclosed in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU), by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME).

The offer aims to replace the old and inefficient contracts for the new and lowest cost. “This auction aims to recombe the contracts of distributors from the new energy auctions carried out in 2005, 2006 and 2007, as well as remaining contracts of the priority program of Termeletricity (PPT),” said the MME in a statement.
