How does P&G production occur at Petrobras?

It is not new that Petrobras is one of the main companies existing in Brazil, and has also become a great international reference, even going through some crises. The Brazilian state company specializes in the exploration and production of oil and natural gas and moves the economy strongly. Therefore, it is necessary that we understand, at least, minimally how this occurs.

The exploration and production of oil and natural gas are petrobras’ core activities. Thus, the company is always seeking to increase its reserves and develop production actions in order to meet the growing demand for energy in the country. Following this line, it is possible to analyze the company’s great capacity through exploration in the deep waters of the Campos Basin, for example, which began since the 1970s, when technology was not yet at the level of the present day. Thus, the state specialized and, today, the production of pre-salt in deep water is already a reality, an activity that also allows a considerable income for several employees.

The majority of Petrobras’ oil reserves are in maritime fields, which causes drilling to reach increasing depths. Thus, working in pre- and post-salt areas, the company is always seeking to invest. An example of this are the new production systems that have recently entered into operation, six in the pre-salt (P-74, P-75, P-76 and P-77), in the Buzios field (P-69) and in the Lula P-67 field, not counting the FPSO Cidade de Campos dos Goytacazes, in the Campo verde field , in the Campos Basin. Finally, by the year 2023, Petrobras plans to invest about US$68.8 billion in oil and natural gas exploration and production.
