IBP: auctions are positive for the future of the oil industry

The most popular were the blocks in the Campos Basin, off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, where eight of the 10 offered were awarded by the Consortium Petrobras/ExxonMobil, which, in a consortium, paid R $2.240 billion by the maritime fields block 346 (BC-346), one of the most contested areas of 14 round and the largest signing bonus.

"The preparatory work carried out by the Government for the 14th round would have been a victory for the industry, with the advances in local content rules, the extent of Repetro and improvements achieved by the regulatory sector. The results of today, however, go beyond, marking a strong presence of major operators and bringing others to Brazil, "said Antonio Guimarães, Executive Secretary of the IBP exploration and production.
