Program for gas sector will be proposed in June

The federal government will present in the Chamber of Deputies, in June, a new incentive program for the gas sector, said the minister of the MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy), Bento Albuquerque.

Still according to the minister, the decision of the Supreme Court in authorizing the sale of subsidiaries even without the endorsement of the National Congress, will guarantee more legal certainty for the disinvestment plan of Petrobras and other state.

In April, the National Energy Policy Council (CNPE) approved the resolution establishing the Competition Promotion Committee of the Natural gas market in Brazil, which aims at reducing the cost of energy and leveraging the levered pre-salt production.

The government now aims to reduce the price of energy in order to drive the industry, aiming to make new investments in the flow, processing and transportation infrastructure of natural gas, increase in the gas thermoelectric generation with reduced price of energy and reindustrialization of the sectors of cellulose, ceramics, fertilizers, petrochemicals, glass, steel, among others.
