Infrastructure Services Commission debate on renewable energy projects

Last Tuesday, November 20, the Infrastructure Services Commission (CI) met to discuss a nine-item agenda. Among them, the project authored by Mr Hélio José (Pros-DF), PLS 107/2017, which aims to include, in the regulated hiring environment, bidding processes of electricity produced by hybrid plants with renewable sources. The preposition will allow more than one type of electricity generation source in the country.

According to Senator Roberto Muniz (PP-BA), one of the proponents of the project, believes that the proposal will stimulate the technological and industrial development of the renewable sector, as this would eliminate the participation of hybrid plants with alternative sources in In addition to reducing the cost of enterprises.

The proposition if approved, will follow for analysis of the Chamber of Deputies and then to the plenary of the Senate. Renewable sources are essential for reducing greenhouse gases and maintaining a clean energy matrix.
