It seems that the impasse regarding the change in the rules of the Local content can have time to finish. The Minister of mines and energy, Fernando Rabbit Son, reported that the Government should hold a meeting with the Staff and the Ministry of industry, Trade and services at day 16 February to take care about the rules that will be applied in the 14th round of bidding for exploration blocks.
The meeting was planned to happen on day 6, but was cleared due to lack of consensus among oil companies and suppliers of goods and services in the areas of oil and gas, which have different positions on the percentage of local content, as can be read in article published by Panorama on 7 February day Offshore. (See: http://migre.me/w1URR).
The Minister of mines and energy said that listening to different industry representatives comes on the issue and that one of their concerns is about the need of resumption of investments in production and exploration of oil and gas that do generate sustainable and lasting growth for the area.
The regulation of Local content is part of the Government policy to enhance the participation of national industry in the provision of goods and services, having as base the generation of jobs and income to the brazilian population. The winning companies in the processes of bidding, according to ANP's contract, has an obligation to maintain the participation of the national industry in business and in providing goods and services.ACESSE AS REDES DA PANORAMA OFFSHORE:
