Methanol: Extended term to the new rules

The time limit for the adequacy of companies working with methanol to resolution ANP No. 696, from August this year to 10 March 2018, in this adequacy includes methanol in the solvent category.

“Resolution ANP No. 712, of 24 November 2017 (DOU of 27 November 2017) postponed the deadline laid down in article 21, which makes the analysis of methanol by distributors and ethanol suppliers compulsory,” indicate sources of the National Agency for Petroleum, natural gas and biofuels (ANP).

The deadline was extended in view of the need to complete the evaluation of alternative methodologies to the NBR ABNT 16041 method for detecting the presence and methanol content in fuel and gasoline ethanol.
