MME claims drop in gas canister price
The Minister of Mines and Energy, Bento Albuquerque, reported that the price of cooking gas (liquefied petroleum gas, or even LPG) will suffer a reduction. The statement was made in a live last Friday (7).
According to Albuquerque, "the price of the canister is going to drop a lot, because we are adopting actions to make the competition bigger in the sector." The minister explained that the product is available in abundance in the country, so the price should be cheaper: "Many people stocked the canister because of the pandemic and the dealer himself took advantage of this situation, but now consumption has dropped a little", he said.
It is worth remembering that, according to the minister, the 13 kg canister currently costs between R$ 25.00 and R$ 27.00 in refineries. Thus, the high value that reaches the consumer is the responsibility of distributors and sellers.
