MME authorizes ANP to extend sharing contracts

The National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) was authorized by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME), today (15), to "enable the extension for nine months of the deadlines related to the exploration phase provided for in the contracts under the production sharing regime, in accordance with the conditions established in ANP Resolution No. 815 of April 20, 2020".

In other words, the MME has thus authorised the ANP to extend the contracts under the sharing regime. The decision was allowed by the Minister of the Ministry, Bento Albuquerque, and is published in the Official Gazette (DOU).

In more, resolution 815 establishes the Technical Regulation for Decommissioning of Exploration and Production Facilities. In addition, it regulates the decommissioning in the assignment of contracts, includes the land area under contract in the production phase in the bidding process, the disposal and reversal of goods, the fulfillment of remaining obligations in the exploration phase and the return of area in the production phase.
