Due to the pandemic, power generation auctions, which were scheduled to be held that year, were postponed. This past Monday (7), the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) presented a planning to resume the games in 2021.
According to the folder, two existing energy auctions (A-4 and A-5) are planned, aimed at hiring plants that are already in operation. In addition, the ministry also announced two changes: the limit of inflexibility restriction for all thermoelectric sources will be removed and the deadline for registration for technical qualification of enterprises will be reopened. The ordinances with the new guidelines will be published in December.
The Ministry also plans to hold auctions for new energy contracting. For the month of April, it is planned an event for the supply of isolated systems to supply Acre, Amazonas, Pará, Rondônia and Roraima. The government also plans to hold, in the second half of the year, an auction for the contracting of capacity reserves, if the need is pointed out in the studies of energy planning and operation of the electric system.
