NE: ANEEL approves 1.2 GW in wind and solar projects

The National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) recently approved 1.2 gigawatts (GW) in wind and solar projects in the Northeast, under the Independent Production of Electric Power.

Wind projects alone total about 678.6 megawatts (MW) of installed capacity, distributed among 19 wind and solar power plants. The Tucano wind complex, for example, is the largest, with 483.6 MW and 13 plants installed in the municipality of the same name of the enterprise, located in Bahia.

In turn, the solar photovoltaic projects have as highlight the Bom Lugar park, with 217.8 MW among six plants in Icó, Ceará. All projects should further leverage the generation and consumption of renewable electricity in the country.
