New Electricity Code receives contributions

The new Brazilian Electricity Code has been in process in the House of Representatives since July 31, when it was presented to the special committee. Since then, at least 20 contributions to the document have been submitted by entities in the electricity sector. The deadline for suggestions runs until October 9th.

It is a code with more than 400 articles, which aims to organize the energy sector in Brazil, addressing generation, transmission and distribution. Today, the sector is managed by several laws, decrees and norms.

Initially, the deadline for suggestions was August 31, but the industry itself asked for more time so that it could examine and offer contributions.
