New gas law to be voted on Tuesday (1st)

The Chamber of Deputies must vote on Bill 6407/13, which defines the new regulatory framework for the natural gas sector, next Tuesday (1st).

The text provides for authorization, instead of a concession, for the transportation of natural gas and storage in depleted oil fields. According to the rapporteur of the project, deputy Laercio Oliveira (PP-SE), the new rules will modernize the sector, generating an increase in jobs and a reduction in prices.

The bill would be voted on the 26th, but left the agenda of the day in the Chamber due to technical problems that caused the vote to be postponed.
