New gas law to be guided next week
The rapporteur of the new gas law, Laércio Oliveira (PP-SE), said last Tuesday (11) that the bill should be guided in the next week in the plenary of the House of Representatives. The statement was made while the Deputy participated in a webinar promoted by the Brazilian Association of Large Industrial Energy Consumers and Free Consumers (Embrace).
"Next week, we should, in the person of our president, to guide this project," said Oliveira, who was optimistic with the text. For the Member, the new rules will generate competitiveness and cheapening of the product in the market, helping to boost the industries. "We want more prices to account for. Even with effects on the gas cylinder, where we expect a reduction of approximately 30%, when everything is working," he said.
It is worth remembering that on the last day 29, the House approved the urgency for the process of the project by 323 votes in favour and 113 against. The new law can unlock investments of around R$ 43 billion, according to the government calculations.
