Nine oil fields in Iraq should receive proposals

Iraq reported that in June it will receive proposals to develop projects in nine fields of oil and gas. This is one of the country's attempts to increase revenue in the energy sector.

According to Abdul-Mahdi al-Ameedi, director of the Department of Licensing and contracts of the Iraqi Petroleum Ministry, as an incentive for companies that make offers for projects, they can, for the first time, work on the elaboration of contracts. Of the nine blocks, five are shared with Iran, three with Kuwait and one is in the Persian Gulf.
