OPEC requests planning for oil demand from 2019

OPEP has requested the joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee, which supervises the agreement between the group and its allies, the planning of alternative routes in relation to the amount of oil that the entity must produce in the year 2019. The request for the measure was to prevent the market from returning to the condition of excess supply, and to avoid falling prices and, consequently, reducing production.

This year, oil fell after reaching the highest stage in four years due to demand worries. According to Saudi Arabia's energy minister, Khalid Al-Falih, OPEC is in the high productivity phase so that it can meet demand and thus replace any imminent scarcity.

The scenario of instability can cause concern since oil moves the economy and generates profit not only for the country.
