OPEC predicts increased supply of oil in Brazil

In a report released by the Organization of petroleum exporting countries (Opec), Brazil will have the highest elevation of the offer of “black gold” in comparison with the countries that are not part of the cartel. According to forecasts of the Organization, an increase in the supply of 250,000 barrels per day to 3,400,000 bpd.

According to the OPEC report, the total net brazilian production in December 2016, rose 70000 bpd before November to an average of 3,330,000 bpd. To confirm his predictions, the entity also cited the creation of three production units last year from Petrobrás and, more recently, in the city of Caraguatatuba, where will begin four more plants: green turtle and mestizo, Lula North (P-67), Squid (P-66) and pound.

It is worth remembering that the measures taken by OPEC with the agreement to reduce oil production to increase the value of the barrel are gradually bringing effects. The Organization had already released, as reported by the Panorama Offshore, oil demand in 2017 will be larger than expected and that the first cut made by the members of the cartel, as well as other allies, is one of the most important in the history of initiatives of the organization.

In 2016, the Brazil positioned itself against the production cuts. According to the petroleum Secretary of the Ministry of mines and energy, Márcio Félix, the Government does not see how a cut in supply could solve the problem of low prices of oil.
