Partnership between Exxon Mobil and Petrobras is not concrete

The president of Petrobras, Pedro Parente, said there is no concrete negotiations between the state and the US oil company Exxon Mobil. The statement came after The Wall Street Journal report that the two companies are negotiating slices of oil blocks, especially in the pre-salt area.

The Brazilian government also said Exxon has expressed great interest in the exploration of pre-salt, but there is nothing in progress between the two companies.

According to The Wall Street, the American oil company is the only major oil company without major shares in Brazil and the partnership with Petrobras would include the purchase of parts of blocks that will be auctioned in the next rounds of bidding.
