Peru cancels the country's largest gas pipeline construction
With an investment of 7 billion dollars, Peru canceled the contract with Odebrecht, for the construction of the gas pipeline of the South, the greatest work of infrastructure in the country's history. The ban was made because the company did not get the necessary financing for the construction of the stretch, leaving the stagnant construction.
The work consisted of more than 1,000 kilometers of pipes that leave the Camisea field, in the jungle of Cusco, through the Andes to the Pacific coast. A new bid must be announced, however, according to the newspaper El País, she could take 12 to 15 months, and for this reason, some experts recommend to the Peruvian Government a redesign of the project.
