On Tuesday (22), Petrobras confirmed the presence of oil of great quality amid the drilling of a well in the important field of Buzios, in the Santos Basin. "The discovery reinforces the potential of pre-salt in the Buzios field," the state said.
The company explained in a statement that the 9-BUZ-48D-RJS well, located at the northwest end of the field, is 188 kilometers from the city of Rio de Janeiro. It was drilled at a depth of 1,850 meters and tests that showed the oil were carried out from 5,540 meters deep.
Petrobras is the operator of the consortium responsible for the Buzios field, with a 90% stake. The Chinese CNOOC and CNDOC are active companies, with 5% each.
