Petrobras reaches export record

In February, Petrobras set a record for export 238,000 barrels of fuel oils per day and 1 million tonnes in the month. The state company has benefited from the change in the world's fuel specification (IMO 2020), which reduced the sulphur content limit from 3.5% to 0.5% in fuel oil and both oil and fuel oil produced by the company have low sulphur content.

According to a statement released by Petrobras, exports of oil also continued high in February, with volumes above 690,000 Barrels a day. The state reported that this occurred due to the flow adjustment exports: the destination of products to the Caribbean, United States and Europe have increased in place of Asia, which is the main destination of exports, but the restricted market due to the coronavirus outbreak.

"It is important to note that it is not yet possible to estimate with all the impacts that the company may suffer in relation to its operations and results, with a view to the developments related to the outbreak of COVID-19 in the global economy" said the company.
