Petrobras and BP sign strategic alliance agreement

Was signed between Petrobras and BP, oil company in the United Kingdom, a letter of intent where he stayed awake that companies identify and jointly assess business opportunities involving assets and projects in Brazil and abroad. In the document, the cooperation in the areas of exploration and production, refining, transportation and marketing of gas, among other items, that seek development of Alliance strategy.

The first Union between the companies was shut down in the third round of the ANP bidding under production-sharing arrangements. The companies purchased together the right to exploration and production in the High block of Cabo Frio in consortium with 50% for each, besides the Peroba block, which was divided 40 percent to the State and BP and 20% for the subsidiary of CNPC the CNODC.

According to Petrobras, endorsed by the State President, Pedro Parente, in an interview with journalists at the fair OTC Brazil on 24 to 26 October, the realization of strategic partnerships is an important step in the implementation of the business plan and management 2017-2021 of the company. The intention is to increase the investment capacity and strengthen the corporate governance of the company.
