Petrobras Announces new Business plan

Petrobras announced this week that its board of directors approved the main standards that will guide the new business Plan 2020/24, which is in the process of elaboration. According to the note disclosed on the site, the state will focus on generating value for the shareholders and dedicated to the exploration and production of oil in deep waters.

“This new Petrobras adds, since now, the digital transformation as a powerful lever for achieving productivity gains and reducing costs,” said Petrobras President Roberto Castello Branco.

In the area of oil exploration and production, the company’s goal is to grow in world-class oil and gas assets and maximize the value of its projects, focusing on deep and ultra-deep waters.

In the gas and energy sector, the goal is to participate competitively in the commercialization of the gas itself, to improve the thermoelectric portfolio with a focus on the self-consumption and to leave the gas distribution and transport entirely.

The company also intends to leave the fertilizer business, LPG and biodiesel distribution. In relation to refining, logistics and sales, the objective is to act competitively in the global commercialization of oil and in the activities of the area, focusing on operations in the southeast.

With regard to renewable sources, Petrobras stressed that it will develop researches in order to act, in the long term, in renewable energy business with a focus on wind and solar in Brazil. In addition, it intends to enable the commercialization of renewable diesel and BioQav (aviation biokerosene).
