Petrobras net income falls in q3

Petrobras said, considering the special items, the company had a drop in third-quarter net income compared to the second. According to the note, “net income reached R$ 9.1 billion, mainly reflecting the increase in oil and gas production and capital gain from the sale of BR Distribuidora”. Compared to the same period in 2018, the value represents a high of 36%.

The current profit is lower than the R$ 18.9 billion in the second quarter, obtained as a result of the sale of The Associated Gas S.A. Carrier. (TAG), the state justified the decrease with income tax expenses and social contribution due to the decline of deferred tax assets abroad.

The company also reported that Ebitda (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) adjusted was R$ 32.6 billion, if maintainstable compared to the second quarter of this year, despite the fall in the price of Brent (crude oil rating).
