Petrobras and the Norwegian company Equinor, signed on September 26, the agreement of wind power projects at the state stand at the event of Rio Oil & Gas 2018, at the Convention center Rio Centro, Rio de Janeiro. Companies have already made other investments together in other areas.

The pilot project involves an industrial scale of pinwheels with capacity of 6 to 10 megawatts, which are among the best in the world and will be installed in Guamaré, in Rio Grande do Norte. According to Petrobras, Equinor is a pioneer in wind projects and produces other projects in Germany and the United States, as well as working in three wind farms in the UK.

The state has four wind farms in Rio Grande do Norte that operate at 104 megawatts, which were traded at the Reserve Energy auction in 2009 and is with research project to operate four types of energy in the state.

According to the Director of strategy, organization and management system of Petrobras, Nelson Silva, the plan of the State for the period of 2019/2023 will give space for investments in renewable energy, which should be announced in December. Although sustainable energy still represents a smaller parcel, investments can change this situation in the long run, which will be a breakthrough for the country.
