Petrobras and Total acquire 14.4 million barrels in the second round of auctions

Last Friday, 31 August, the Total companies and Petrobras conquered the loads of 14.4 million of oil barrels that were offered by pre-salt oil (PPSA) in the second auction of the union portion in the production sharing contracts, held in B3 in Sao Paulo.

Petrobras acquired about 10.6 million of barrels referring to the field of Mero, located in the Santos basin, by not presenting speculation during the 36 months contract. The other companies, being Shell, Repsol sinopece and Total, who ran for the auction showed no interest.

The field of thrush, consisting of 600,000 barrels, was also won by Petrobras with zero goodwill for the 36 months contract. The Lula field, with 3.2 million barrels, was auctioned in a second stage due to the lack of interest of the state that was part of the first auction.

The Total French company, obtained the volume by presenting a proposal of speculation of R $1 per cubic metre. The consequence of this auction is contrast compared to the first event that offered 1.8 million barrels.
