Petrobras said it completed the sale of the subsidiary New Carrier Southeast (NTS) for the sum of US $ 4.23 billion dollars. The purchase was made by holdings in investment fund (FIP), New Infrastructure, managed by the Canadian Brookfield.
The sale of the NTS is the largest transaction carried out by Petrobras to date and with the completion state retains only 10% stake in the company which will be administered by Transpetro, another subsidiary of Petrobras. NTS operates the largest pipeline in the southeast region.
The sale action is part of the disinvestment program of the government, which aims to raise $ 34.6 billion dollars by 2018.
