Petrobras intends to dry up staff

By participating in a live broadcast last Wednesday (1º), the president of Petrobras, Roberto Castello Branco, reported that Petrobras registered the accession of about 10,000 employees to voluntary resignation plans. The number represents about 22% of the company's staff, which has more than 45,000 employees, he said.

The CEO also reported that the state's goal is to reach a total of about 30,000 employees in the long run. "With the departure of those who joined the POS, we go to about 35,000, and with the sale of refineries we should probably have something close to 30,000, which is enough for the company to continue operating well, with lower costs and more efficiently," Castello Branco said in a videoconference with reporters.

In addition, the president also said that by the end of this year Petrobras will halve the number of buildings it occupies nationwide for its activities —from 17 buildings to just eight.
