Petrobras to invest billions in the regions of the Santos Basin

In the next five years, Petrobras intends to invest US $9 billion in pre-salt areas in the Santos basin. The reasons are presented as the expansion of the number of platforms, which from 16 will go to 18 to 2020, and the expansion of the Integrated operations center of the Santos Basin (COI-BS), at the headquarters of the state, located in Santos, São Paulo.

For the general manager of the Santos Basin Operations Unit (UO-BS), João Ricardo Barusso Lafraia, the COI-BS ampliwiring will allow to monitor in real time the conditions of the ships and to exert solutions in the management support of the operation. Currently, the Mexilhão platform is the only one fully controlled by the operations unit.

The operation of the Santos basin began in 2009, in a total area of 350,000 square kilometers of Cabo Frio, Rio de Janeiro, to Florianópolis, Santa Catarina. The region's newest platform is the P-67, which began production on February 1 this year.
