Petrobras: Covid outbreak forces landings in Tupi

This week, Petrobras faced an outbreak of Covid-19 on the P-69 platform in the Tupi superfield (formerly Lula), the country’s largest producer. As a part, dozens of workers were forced to disembark for preventive testing. The platform, which is in the Santos basin, has also undergone additional hygiene. In a statement, the state said that the landed would be monitored by Petrobras health teams and guidelines for isolation. The exact number of workers was not reported.

According to the Union of Oil Tankers of the Coast of São Paulo (Sindipetro-LP), there were 31 employees with positive diagnosis for Covid-19, and another 30 planned for landing last Thursday (19). Also according to the union, affected workers should register contamination as an accident at work (CAT), a recommendation also recognized by Anvisa and fiocruz report. Petrobras, however, disputes the understanding.
