Petrobras to participate in auction in Israel

Israel's Energy minister, Yuval Steinitz, said Petrobras will be one of the companies to participate in the recent Israeli "solo" oil and gas competition. The announcement took place during a visit by the Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro, and his minister of Mines and Energy, Bento Albuquerque, to the country.

The interest in the waters of Israel has been growing in the last decade, due to a series of gas discoveries in the city and the waters of the Eastern Mediterranean, which has made the country potentially profitable for large companies.

19 Offshore blocks Are being offered, and among the stakeholders is the giant Exxon Mobil Corp, which in great political change is considering participating in the auction. The entry into the oil and gas exploration bidding is intended to generate greater competition, since the latter only counted on proposals from two interested companies.
