After participating in a debate on the last day of OTC Brasil 2019, Petrobras’ executive manager of Natural Gas, Rodrigo Costa Lima, said the installation of a floating gas terminal could be the solution for the flow of production of new pre-salt fields. If the project is adopted, it must be defined by 2022 to be implemented by 2025 in partnership with other companies in the sector.
The proposal of FLNG (floating platforms equipped for produce and liquemake natural gas produced in maritime fields) would first be developed with the aim of providing gas nationally, with cabotage between terminals, but the option of marketing on the international market is not excluded by the state. Petrobras’ goal is to create this infrastructure of shared with other producers.
