Refineries are in Petrobras ' disinvestment plan

With the intention of reducing the indebtedness of Petrobras, President Roberto Castello Branco wants to get about US $10 billion with the commercialization of refineries. This measure is part of the disinvestment package which, in addition to the refining areas, also includes the sale of mature fields in shallow water.

According to the president's statement at the seminar "The New Liberal Economy" at FGV in Rio de Janeiro, the new process being carried out is the transformation of the state closest to a private company. This fact is verified with the pretension of selling at least half the capacity of the units in the refining areas.

In the mandate of Pedro Parente, former president of the state, there was planning to sell Petrobras ' holdings of four refineries in the Northeast and South regions.
