According to the president of Petrobras, Roberto Castello Branco, the state will withdraw from the gas transportation and distribution sector until 2021. The decision was made through an agreement between the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade) and the company, with the aim of leaving the market more favorable for other companies.
The negotiation will cause three processes against Petrobras, due to the monopoly of the company in the sector, are terminated and, moreover, will allow the participations of the new carrier of Southeast S/A (NTS), associated carrier of gas S. A (TAG) and Brazilian transport pipeline Bolivia-Brazil S/A (TBC) are marketed.
The planning still obliges an offer of remaining capacity in the pipelines to third parties, opening of data on the transport capacity of the TAG and NTS, and end of clauses of exclusivity of the contracts in force.
