Petrobras launches pre-paid card test phase

On Monday (20), Petrobras Distribuidora starts the testing phase of the “Petrobras Trucker Card”, which aims to give more ease, security and guarantee to autonomous truckers in relation to the oscillations of the price of diesel oil. The payment solution will also be available for carriers and shippers.

The trucker card works in the prepaid mode for the purchase of diesel. In the initial phase of testing, the product will be available at some Petrobras posts from the Siga Bem network in the states of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Paraná, and about 100 truckers will be the first to use the card. After the conclusion of this stage, in a positive way, BR Distribuidora will launch the card by road corridors throughout the country.

Truckers can already perform pre-registration through the site. After the definitive launch, the registration can also be done via application, call center or in person in places still to be disclosed by the state. Truckers will be able to transfer values to the card, to be converted to liters of diesel, which should be used within a period of up to 30 days in the network of Petrobras accredited stations.

The product is also a digital account, allowing transactions to be made without the need of the physical card, through the website or application. Credits in liters of diesel can also be reversed in reais within 30 days. However, there will be discounted rate whose value has not yet been disclosed.
