Petrobras' average production of oil and natural gas (LGN) in the country was 2.720 million barrels per day in the first quarter of the year, according to a report released last Tuesday (27) by the state company itself.
The number represents a 5% drop in production compared to the same period in 2020. If only the production of oil and LGN produced in Brazil is considered, there was a drop of 5.3%.
According to Petrobras, the fall in volumes produced is a consequence of the sale of assets made over the last few months. In addition, one should also consider the natural decline in production, which happens when older projects have already passed the peak of production and enter the phase of decline.
