The president of Petrobras, Roberto Castello Branco, in an interview with the newspaper Valor Economico, said that there is the possibility of the State to make agreement with the Union in relation to the onerous assignment. According to him, the company is aligned with the Government on the decision that the agreement is not a tax issue, but a fundamental act for the development of the oil industry in Brazil.
On the form of payment, the president of the state said it is a secondary issue, because the essential at the moment is to have conditions necessary for the realization of the surplus auction. On the sale of assets, Castelo Branco said that there are no non-negotiable sectors between them the BR Distribuidora, Braskem or even the refineries. The company's priority is to reduce costs and disinvestments. That being said, the question remains: how long will Petrobras be part of the national public sector?
