Total oil ready for new acquisitions
The market for the purchase and sale of oil assets is really heated proving that, gradually, the tide is improving in the offshore industry. This time, the French oil company Total said it will buy the oil and gas business of Denmark's Maersk by DAB of R $7.45 billion. With the purchase, the Total will become the second largest operator in the North Sea, with significant operations in Britain, Norway and Denmark.
In March this year, as reported by the Offshore Panorama Total and Petrobras closed contracts of sale relating to the Strategic Alliance assets defined in the General Agreement of cooperation. With that, the French company now holds 35% of Petrobras ' rights as well as the operation of the concession area of the field of Lapa, in block BM-S-9.
