PetroRio posts second-quarter profit

PetroRio, which previously had a loss of R$76.2 million, recorded net income of R$ 304.6 million in the second quarter of 2021. In addition to the recovery of the price of oil and the appreciation of the real against the dollar, the good performance and result were also due to the contracts made, totaling the sale of 2.8 million barrels.

The company reported that net revenue totaled R$1.02 billion, representing a 228% increase compared to the second quarter of 2020, thus recording the highest level in the company's history. One factor that contributed a lot to all this transformation was the acquisition of 80% of the Hammerhead Shark Field.
