Recently, the Geological Survey of Brazil (CPRM) with Petrobras and the National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), signed a cooperative contract for the execution of Research projects, Development and Innovation (PD&I). As a end, research in the Brazilian oil and gas will suffer a boost.
The goal is to encourage innovative research and expand the access to knowledge of Brazilian sedimentary basins. Projects include the revitalization of the Earth Science Museum and its laboratories; the construction of the PD&I SGB Network with Rocks and Petroleum Basin Fluids, composed of three lithotecas (place of reservation and exhibition of collections of rocks), one in Rio de Janeiro, another in Bahia and the third in the Amazon. In addition, the revitalization of the Reference Centre in Geosciences, in the Technological Park of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).
