Campbell's plant closed by ANP

Suspected of selling contaminated ethanol with methanol, highly toxic chemical compound, the national petroleum Agency (ANP), shut the plant Campbell, in fields, in Rio de Janeiro. This is the second time that the site is closed to contain substance of hydrous ethanol sold in gas stations in the State of Rio de Janeiro. The previous occurrence happened last November.

The action was taken after investigations of the program of the ANP Fuel monitoring, identify the presence of methanol in posts where retailers was distributed plant oils Campbell. Second report of the Agency, were found adulterated samples into fuels distributed by companies BR Distribuidora, Shell and Ipiranga.

With the decision, the plant will be closed for sale and sale of product without proven source.
