PPSA predicts production of 2 million barrels per day for 2028

PPSA (pre-Sal Petróleo S.A.) expects to produce about 2 million barrels of oil per day in 2028. These production figures are estimated only for the 14 current sharing contracts signed between 2013 and 2018. The data were revealed by a study conducted in partnership with the EPBR agency. PPSA is responsible for representing the Union in contracts and shares.

According to PPSA, the sharing contracts in effect are operated by five companies – Petrobras, Shell, Exxon, BP and Equinor – and nine Consorciadas. The survey pointed out that in the same period, existing contracts should achieve production of 24 million cubic meters of natural gas per day.

According to the study, the average volume of surplus oil offered to the union in the 14 contracts according to the parcel projected for the year 2028 will be 250,000 bpd of petroleum. In addition, the forecast is that over the next 10 years, 144 billion dollars will be invested in exploration and production to develop these 14 production sharing projects. The estimate of contributions is based on the entry into operation of the contracted FPSOs.
