Ethanol prices skyrocket across Brazil

A survey by the National Agency for Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) showed a drop in ethanol prices at gas stations across the country this May.

The survey was conducted between May 1 and 21. It was also verified that the increase in prices are directly related to the drought that occurred in the summer, according to information from the Association of Sugar and Energy Industries of Minas Gerais.

In the South region, for example, it was possible to find the fuel for up to R$ 6.49 per liter. In the Southeast region, the average value of ethanol in the accumulated month is R$ 4.12, but reached R$ 5.99.
