Oil production increases, but sales are locked

The production of oil in the pre-salt layer of Brazil has been increasing. To give you an idea, in the first half from 2017, the four main fields: Lula, Sapinhoá, green turtle and Nautilus had an accumulated volume of 15.2 million barrels, enough to fill four super tanker ship.

The large production has occurred because, when the blocks were auctioned off before the discovery of the pre-salt, the fields were designed according to the potential of each reservation, but after reaching the pre-salt layer, the oil found that shells stretched beyond the limits of the concessions, influencing the increase in production.

However, all this volume, which could generate a return of R $2.4 billion, is not being sold, because, according to information, the Government is still negotiating the hiring of a firm to perform selling transactions.  What has left the oil stuck with dealers of the fields, preventing the development of the sector and offshore brazilian industry growth.

According to the pre-salt Oil (PPSA), created to manage state oil and set the share of production in which the Union has the right, the sale of oil should begin from October 1.
