Oil production in Brazil beats new record

For the fourth consecutive year, the average oil production in the country hit record in 2017. With a growth of 0.4%, the total produced by Petrobras in Brazil was 2,150,000 barrels per day (bpd). The production of natural gas also reached record totaling 79.6 million cubic meters per day and the total production of the company in the country, in 2017, reached a record of 2,650,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed).

The pre-salt also did not stay behind. The average production last year, including both the parcels of Petrobras and its partners, was 1,290,000 of bpd, volume 26% higher than the average volume produced in 2016. According to the state, due to the interconnection of new wells to the FPSOs city of Saquarema, City of Maricá and city of Itaguaí, besides the beginning of the operation of the platform P-66 contributed to the production growth last year.
