Totaling 2,653,000 barrels per day (bbl/d), Brazilian oil production had increased 6.7% in May compared with the same period in 2016 and elevation of 4.5% over the month of April this year. With natural gas also was no different, the growth in production was 105 million cubic meters per day, surpassing in 5%, the production of the same month in 2016 and 2.1% in April.
In total, Brazil produced about 3,312,000 of millions of barrels of oil equivalent per day. The production in the pre-salt layer also in nothing left to be desired. In April, the number reached 1.572 million barrels of oil equivalent per day. From 75 wells, the production was approximately 1.265 million barrels of oil per day and 49 million cubic meters of natural gas per day, an increase of 5.1% compared to the previous month. 47.5% of the total produced in Brazil are from the pre-salt layer.
The largest producer of oil and natural gas was the Lula field in the Santos basin, totaling 697,000 bbl/d of oil and m ³ 30,100,000/d of natural gas. The maritime fields produced 95.2% of the oil and 84% of the natural gas.
