Energy incentive program has low support

Despite offering financial compensation to companies, the energy reduction program presented by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) is under-abiding. The proposal is to reduce the pressure on the electricity system on a voluntary basis at peak times.

In order to minimize the disorders in the midst of the water crisis, the program that is aimed at large consumers had its rules disclosed last week by the MME. According to Roberto Wagner Pereira, an energy specialist at CNI (National Confederation of Industry), the reason that leads companies not to join the program is the difficulty in changing the production process in the midst of the moment of economic recovery.
